Hello! I went ahead and purchased the book on Nook and was so excited. Unfortunately, the formatting is messed up (it shows up with a very narrow column in the center of the screen and there's about 1 sentence or less per screen). After speaking to B&N customer service they said that they are looking into it and I shouldn't try opening the book for another week.

Thanks for the heads-up. I checked the text when TRP was first published and again just now. It shows up OK in the preview. I don't have a nook so I can't download it to see what that does to it myself, but I'm contacting Nook customer service too.

How about on Kobo - for Canada?

Hey Linda-

I d/l it as well for Nook and had the same problem. Anyone you get in contact with give you any more information on what the deal is?

I just finished the book. I loved it but of course, sad it is over. Can't wait for the next one, at least I am pleading for another. I love that you have not rushed through their lives... I am hoping that means more books are to come. Thank you for providing me with such entertainment and fulfilling my need as well as yours to hear the rest of the story:).

I was able to finally find Darcy & Elizabeth in a hardcover version last year. I have been unable to find your other books in anything but digital and paperback. Are there any plans to release the others as HB or if they are already out, could you direct me to a place where I can buy them?

I too from Canada and am interested in a verson for Kobo. I just finished Darcy & Elizabeth this morning, so I'd loved to be reading the next book!

I, too tried to download to a Nook. Fortunately I started with the sample. After speaking with customer service, I deleted the sample, waited almost a week, and tried again. I still have the same center column, squeezed together text. It is better when I open it on my PC, but I had hoped to be able to read it on my Nook. Anyone else made any progress with B/N to resolve this? I am just salivating after reading the sample!!!

After unhelpful emails, I finally talked to Nook publisher support today (Jan 9) and told them that several buyers were having problems opening TRP on their Nooks. (There have been lots of purchases completed who haven't reported a problem.) Support guy opened it w/o any trouble. As more than one person reported the exact same trouble, I asked him what the problem could be and he verbally shrugged his shoulders...
Sorry, I wish I knew more.
Kobo. Canada, you say? I'll check into that.
As for the hard-cover D&E, that was a one-off by a B&N imprint. I tried to uncover what moved them to print D&E rather than MDTAW and I had no better luck than with the Nook guy.

Your kinds words are very appreciated!

I love your books! I, like you, always wanted to know more about the darcy's lives. So thanks for providing that for me. I really hope you write more about them...? Thanks again!

I've been in contact 2 times with B&N customer service. Their first suggestion about opening it after leaving it archived didn't work. I contacted them again and they wanted me to reset my whole Nook Color (erasing all data which would have to be reloaded). I explained that that most likely wouldn't work since 1) it was the only book in my electronic library doing this, and 2) other people were having the same issue. They then informed me that they were forwarding my problem to their content resolution team. Now they said I had to wait for this team to contact me in 1 to 2 weeks and then they would see if the problem could be resolved. Up until this point I had loved my Nook, but I'm finding the customer service at B&N to be completely lacking when it comes to this issue. I just thought I would give everyone an update on how things stand.

I just bought this book on my Nook (1/22) and am having the exact same problems, so nothing has been fixed yet. It's very frustrating and makes it really difficult to read the book.

Just dropping by to say I loved the first two books and am looking forward to getting the third! I loved reading more about Darcy and Elizabeth and agree with you that Jane Austen should have written more about them!

Thanks for such a vivid imagination.

Ms. Berdoll,

I you ever considered writing a continuation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell (based on what happens after the BBC movie)? I love your work and I can't wait for the book to arrive.

Any news on this coming to Canada in a e-book format? Kobo already has your first two books.

Hi Linda,

I'm a U.S. customer who would also love to see a Kobo copy of The Ruling Passion available. (Borders used to sell the Kobo ereader in the U.S.)
